DocPocket Privacy Policy
DocPocket is designed with your privacy in mind. All your documents and files remain directly on your mobile device. We do not operate storage servers, and we never collect, view, or sell your documents.
1. What We Access on Your Mobile Device
To scan, organize, and view your documents, DocPocket requests access to the following features on your mobile device:
- Camera: Used only when you take pictures of documents, receipts, or notes to create PDFs. Images are processed on your device and are never uploaded to any server.
- Photos and Storage: Used to let you select existing images or documents from your phone and to save created files to your device storage. We do not view, upload, or collect your photo library.
- Biometrics (Fingerprint / Face Unlock): Used to unlock your secure vault. Biometric verification is performed entirely by your phone's Android operating system. The app never sees, accesses, or stores your biometric data.
- On-Device Text Recognition: Extracts text from your documents locally on your phone. It runs completely offline without sending images or text across the internet.
- Internet Connection: Used only for showing advertisements, reporting unexpected crashes, and handling app subscriptions. Your documents and files are never sent over the internet.
2. Google Crashlytics Data (Crash Reports & Diagnostics)
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to detect bugs, fix crashes, and keep the app running smoothly. If the app crashes or encounters an error, Crashlytics automatically collects technical diagnostic data:
- Crash Stack Traces: Technical error messages and code line numbers showing where the app crashed.
- Device Information: Device brand, model (e.g., Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel), and processor architecture.
- Operating System: Android OS version and system language.
- Device State at Time of Crash: Available memory (RAM), battery level, and screen orientation.
- Anonymous App Activity: High-level steps in the app just before the crash to help reproduce and resolve the issue.
- Installation ID: An anonymous random identifier assigned to the app installation to track crash frequency without identifying you personally.
Privacy Guarantee: Crash reports never include document contents, file names, scanned photos, passwords, or personal details. You can also turn off crash reporting at any time inside the app under Settings → Security & Privacy.
3. Advertisements (Google AdMob)
DocPocket shows advertisements using Google AdMob for free users:
- Google AdMob may use device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID) and general location to deliver ads in accordance with Google's policies.
- Upgrading to DocPocket Pro removes all advertisements from the app.
4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled securely by Google Play Store Billing. DocPocket never sees, collects, or stores your credit card details or financial information.
5. Data Control & Deletion
- Your files stay solely on your phone. You can delete any document or clear app data at any time from within the app or in your Android device settings.
- Uninstalling DocPocket completely and permanently removes all app data from your phone.
